We all have struggles, worries, stressors and problems at times. Sometimes we’re dealing with the effects of oppression. Other times we just want to deepen our relationship with ourselves or learn what it means to love ourselves radically. You don’t want to have to educate your therapist about your identity when you come for therapy. Explore your sexuality in a space where you’re not only accepted, but understood.
Who I work with:
I primarily see the LGBTQ+ community doing individual and relationship therapy. My practice offers some traditional therapeutic modalities in a way that is relevant for our population. In addition, I work with polyamorous folks who may or may not be part of the community.
Other LGBTQ+ related offerings:
A special interest of mine is in supporting queer and trans folks through family building and fertility challenges. I facilitate a monthly therapy support group for LGBTQ+ folks who are in the process of creating a family. We honor all types of family building in the group, as well as all configurations of family, including single individuals. People who are thinking about starting this journey, along with those with babies up to 8 months are invited to participate. Those interested in the group will meet first with me individually for a 30 minute appointment where I’ll gather more information about where you are and what you need, and explain more about the group.
In addition, I offer a group for LGBTQ+ adults ages 20 and up called "Healing Ourselves Together". The group is a comfortable place to process deep wounds from any hurts we've experienced in life: rejection, religious abuse, painful breakups, chronic illness, difficulty finding work or the time to pursue passions, failures, and more. The group can be an affordable alternative to individual therapy and some find group work more powerfully transformative.
You can request me as a presenter on queer and trans issues at conferences, businesses, and other professional organizations.
